During the last week and thankfully also throughout the next week, my wife and I are currently pet sitting for two beautiful dogs. A golden retriever called Holly and a lovely black flat-coated retriever called Neecha.
Holly is an elderly dog, she’s 13 years old and you can tell that she’s slowly getting tired. She’s still a big baby inside and she still loves a cuddle, however she isn’t too keen on long walks. Yet she got an appetite like no other! She scoffs up her food in a second and if Neecha leavs even one tiny bit of morsel, she pounces on it in a heart beat. Holly is definitely Tiffany’s favourite from these two.
On the other hand Neecha is only 2. Neecha is very good natured and although she’s quite a large, imposing dog that can have an assertive bark, she’s literally a sweet heart. Within just a week she answers to my voice in an instant and just by calling out her name she comes running next to me. Each time I sit on the sofa she immediately jumps up next to me and lays her head in my lap. She literally became my shadow during the last week 🙂 Yes, from these two lovely dogs, she’s my favourite!
Having the opportunity to pet sit for such beautiful dogs is something that we will cherish for a very long time. It’s very difficult not to fall in love with them and I’m sure I’m going to miss them when we’ll have to bid them farewell next week.
Well, who knows maybe we’ll be asked to return to take care of them in the future too 🙂
